Smart Meters

Smart meters are a critical component of energy efficiency. New Jersey is one of only three states with the lowest availability of residential smart meters. Now is the time to invest in this infrastructure and make smart meters available to all New Jersey residents.

Electric Vehicle Chargers

Building more electric vehicle charging infrastructure is a priority for the Energy Master Plan. At present, New Jersey has less than 1,000 electric vehicle charging stations statewide. New Jersey residents, businesses, and utilities need to work together to expand our electric vehicle charging infrastructure and prepare for a future of clean energy transportation.

Solar Energy

The Energy Master Plan gives us a roadmap to 17,200 megawatts of solar energy by 2035. We have a lot of work to do if we’re going to meet these ambitious solar energy goals andmaintain New Jersey’s position as a national leader in solar energy.

Energy Storage

The Energy Master Plan outlines bold new strategies to help New Jersey reach 2,500 megawatts of storage by 2035, but at less than 100 megawatts we still have a ways to go.

Offshore Wind Energy

New Jersey is making progress towards Governor Murphy’s lofty offshore wind goal of 7,500 megawatts by 2035 but there is still a long road ahead.

Energy Efficiency & Electric Savings

Energy efficiency is innovative, cost-effective and a crucial part of New Jersey’s plan for a clean energy future. We still have a lot of work to do to make our state more efficient and maximize energy savings.
